31st July: joined by the Explorers & mini-explorers for a scramble up Sourmilk Gill.
Deep in discussion with Adrian about their 'chipping stones'
1st Aug: Great Crag and Grange Fell
2nd: Quite a rainy day, so no photos, but Pete had a bike ride over Honister and Newlands Passes while the girls watched High School Musical, then we all had an outing to Rheged. Unfortunately the wildlife photography exhibition had finished, but there were some nice landscape pictures.
3rd: A sunny day for a bimble round Buttermere with Suzanne & the boys.
We have a framed print of this view on our lounge wall, by Keith Melling.
Then into Keswick for fish & chips by the lake. 4th: Another rainy start, giving Pete an opportunity to test his navigation skills (concluding there was a mistake on his map!) ready for Saturday's fell race. Then into Keswick to see the Puzzling Place.
5th: Eagle Crag & Sergeant's Crag
As an incentive on the walk, Daddy promised to take the girls on a motor boat on the lake when we got back.
6th: A very rainy start to the Borrowdale fell race, but fortunately the rain soon cleared to give perfect visibility for the whole race, so the map & compass weren't needed.
On the final climb up Dale Head.
Another runner took photos on the way round, worth a look if you're interested:
