Apr 14

5th Apr: Another good run from Katie - her first sub-30 minute 5km.
6th: Hattie's star appearance on York Barbican stage with Dani Harmer in Peter Pan.

10th: Westways recital. Katie played Jogalong, Emily did Edelweis on the flute.
12th-13th: With the other girls away for the weekend, Megan had a "Daddy weekend", including a trip to the cinema to watch "Frozen", cycling on her new bike ...
... and a ride on the back of Daddy's bike to Bradfield for an ice cream.
19th-26th April: Easter holiday in Eskdale. The first day was perfect weather for completing Pete's last Wainwrights. A fairly early start (for us) meant we had just enough time for Megan to walk the whole way - 8 miles in 8 hours!

21st: Lovely day for a long ride over Hardknott, up to Keswick, over Whinlatter & back to Eskdale, while the girls visited Georgie.
22nd: Back to Georgie's for more messing about in boats.

23rd: Cycling some of the Eskdale Trail.

24th: A walk up Harter Fell (2140'), Megan's highest climb yet.  If you look closely in this photo you can see the road over Hardknott  Pass.  Earlier in the morning, Pete went for a second go at cycling up this road, managing it in 13:35, which is in the top 2.5% of times on Strava.

At the top of Harter Fell.

25th: Another family cycle ride, along the shores of Wastwater for a drink at the Wasdale Head Inn.
26th: Last day of the holiday, so we allowed ourselves a relaxing ride on the steam train before the drive home. Nearly stuck in the car park with a flat battery, until a delivery van came to the rescue.

5th May: Bank Holiday Monday, recovering from Pete's cycling accident on Saturday (gory details below) with a gentle 5 mile walk round Bradfield, followed by a late lunch and a beer or two at the Plough.

(Scroll down to see pictures of the damage if you're brave enough!)

Mar 14

8th March: Katie's cross-country team won the City Championships at Graves Park.
15th-16th: A weekend in London for Katie's 40th, including a 'speakeasy' bar entered through a fridge, a pub serving only Sam Smith's beer from Tadcaster, and the most amazing steak house (The Bountiful Cow)

Recovering with a walk through some of London's parks...
... to the Science Museum to see the world's first Web server ...
... and the Guards Museum at Wellington Barracks, where my Great Great Grandad lived when serving in the Coldstream Guards.

23rd: Taunton

30th: Rivelin walk, shortly after a dog nicked Megan's stick.
